Rescued

As soon as it happened, I wanted to tell you, but really I think you needed to be there.  Tonight I served dinned at the Denver Rescue Mission with Tuesday.

She was a 40 something black woman.  She pointed at me, as I read Tuesday on her shirt.  My heart started racing.  I told her I lost my little girl, my Tuesday, and that I’ve never met another.  She grabbed my hand and told me her daughter died 3 days ago.  Maybe you don’t believe in Divine Intervention, but I know that after hearing person after person, when handed a warm plate of food, say “Thank you, Tuesday”, that I got the Christmas present that I needed most.

P.S.  Spence, if you read this some day, know that your mom was so inspired by your tender heart.

Whatever the Lord allows to happen in your life, He’ll get you through! Praying!
Psalms 91:9-12 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

I DO believe and it is an amazing thing when it happens. Hoot owls are special to us (I collect them and everything…even have a tattoo of one. Tried to talk Jenn into gettting one too, HA!) because they remind us of Daddy. Thanksgiving morning (which was a big holiday on dad’s side of the family) I was stressed and sad. I had to stop and air up my van tire and as I’m messing with that, Tyler gets out of the van and says “sorry I got out Momma but I wanted to take a picture of that hoot owl.” So I look up and on the corner of the building there is an owl!! About the time I looked up at it, he turned his head and looked me square in the eyes and then flew off!! It is a beautiful thing indeed…..so glad your heart had the chance to smile again!!!

I need to remind myself to not read this blog at school. I started crying in front of 20 7th graders and had to explain why–which started a huge bawl fest among the girls. Tuesday continues to touch lives. Can’t see a pink balloon without seeing her, and I never had the chance to meet her! Happy holidays!
    love

The Lord is with you right now, lifting you up, giving you strength! Always praying!
Isaiah 40:28-31 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Psalms 62:5-7 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Psalms 86:1-3 Bow down thine ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor and needy. Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee. Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.

    Praying!
Romans 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

    Dearest Jess…
What a beautiful story. I so believe in divine intervention, angels, etc. That woman was heaven sent. “Perhaps they are not stars after all, but tiny openings in heaven to let us know our loved ones are okay.” Merry Christmas to all of you. I will light a candle on Christmas Eve in memory of your sweet baby girl.

Wow. It’s amazing. When you least expect it, God reveals Himself in the tiniest of ways. I imagine it was Spencer’s idea to serve at the mission? I wish my own children were half has humbled as he is. What a sweet son you have there! You were meant to be there. Tuesday was meant to be there. She was there. She needed you as much as you needed her. I’m sure you helped her more than you could ever know. This is just so touching, thank you for sharing with us, Jess. It just strengthens my faith that there really is a Higher power amung us. I pray for you all often.
