Here’s a little diddy I like to call the Birthday Post.
Last week, on June 27th to be exact, our resident Super Hero turned 5. I don’t know if it’s sheer pity from the broken leg, the fact that we have lots of family around that wanted to help him celebrate, or the embarrassing fact that we are spoiling our kids, but birthDays have become birthWeeks around here. It’s insane. Friday started out as all birthdays do in our house, with a trip to the donut shop. That night was Wall*e and dinner out with the cousins and grandparents. Saturday was the Denver Aquarium and dinner with G-ma (such a FUN day! Thanks G-ma!) and Sunday was his birthday party with his buddies. We had pizza and tie-dyed t-shirts; 3 legged races where Axel was the judge, and lots of running around in the neighborhood. Or in Axel’s case, wheeling around. It’s going on a month now with his cast and he is able to get around on his own, some. He can wheel his own chair short distances and can drag himself around on his belly to get from toy to toy to toy. It’s impressive, but honestly the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen. He still needs to be carried most everywhere, but I will now stop myself from turning this in to a post about poor Jessica and Charley. Rumor has it he gets a walking cast in 8 days. *praying*
Oh NO! Why is this poor little girl crying?
Is she hurt? Sick? Did someone take her favorite dolly? No. those things are all trivial compared to the travesty that took place in our home tonight. Piper’s mean mommy wouldn’t let her continue to look at the beautiful photographs of Marisol and Flyyn because, well, because it’s MY LAPTOP PIPER! And because we’ve looked at Miss Marisol in the “wa-wa”, ”wa-wa”, “wa-wa”, 14 times already.
