Here’s a little diddy I like to call the Birthday Post.

Last week, on June 27th to be exact, our resident Super Hero turned 5.  I don’t know if it’s sheer pity from the broken leg, the fact that we have lots of family around that wanted to help him celebrate, or the embarrassing fact that we are spoiling our kids, but birthDays have become birthWeeks around here.  It’s insane.  Friday started out as all birthdays do in our house, with a trip to the donut shop.  That night was Wall*e and dinner out with the cousins and grandparents. Saturday was the Denver Aquarium and dinner with G-ma (such a FUN day!  Thanks G-ma!) and Sunday was his birthday party with his buddies.  We had pizza and tie-dyed t-shirts; 3 legged races where Axel was the judge, and lots of running around in the neighborhood.  Or in Axel’s case, wheeling around.  It’s going on a month now with his cast and he is able to get around on his own, some.  He can wheel his own chair short distances and can drag himself around on his belly to get from toy to toy to toy. It’s impressive, but honestly the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen.  He still needs to be carried most everywhere, but I will now stop myself from turning this in to a post about poor Jessica and Charley.  Rumor has it he gets a walking cast in 8 days.  *praying*

I don’t remember turning 5, but I’m guessing this will be a birthday he never forgets.
In case you have housework you are avoiding, here are a hundred some pictures from Birthday-fest 08′

Great photo of the birthday boy. What a fabulous birthday he had, wheelchair or no wheelchair, it was awesome. You are such a great mummy.

I’m a firm believer of birthday week/month. So glad the little guy had such a swell birthday. The only thing I’m disappointed with are the donuts. Seriously, they’re all glazed? No eclairs, bars, twists, cruellers, icing, fruit filled, or chocolate ones?

ps Sharlene and I met another set of twins today at the bounce house that had the same Thing 1/Thing 2 t shirts. Soooo cute!

I like the birthday week concept. Sign me up. Sounds like fun. Wish I was there. Or you were here.

Ok, so I feel like an idiot! I had no idea you were still doing this blog too until i saw the blogroll on Shan’s blog. DUH!

Glad you had a great birthday week for your “poor boy”.

Praying he gets the walking cast & is able to enjoy his summer a bit more.

Love the donut photos. We celebrate birthday week, too. Except my birthday – that’s birthday 2 weeks. Axel looks like a champ in his cast.
