First there were pink balloons in the tree. Then a bunch of pink balloons in the parking garage of the airport on our return from Disney Land. Then a solo pink balloon on a tread mill machine at the health club I hadn’t been to in over 7 months (yep, a daughter with cancer will make you forget to work out). So, what happens when you play songs that weren’t sad before diagnosis, but are now, and have a, um, apple juice*? Well, your daughter sends you this sign:

My father in law died this month and we have noticed these things as well. Like, he was never late for ANYTHING. He always joked that the only thing he would be late for was his funeral. And what do you know…he was! The funeral home arrived with him when we did, which was about 15 minutes prior to the services. But when it was time to begin, he wasn’t there. The damn wheel had fallen off the cart that carries the casket!!! And about five minutes after his memorial was to begin, the wheel went back on with no problems. He had to keep his word.
